The Lava Temple Walkthrough — Codes 211 & 8111
Full Lava Temple guide for Bring Back The Sun. Two-part door codes 211 and 8111, flame color matching, statue alignment, and the Burning Heart of the Earth.
Overview
The Lava Temple is the fourth and final adventure map before the Boss Fight in Bring Back The Sun. Built inside an active volcano, this area tests your ability to read color patterns, navigate lava-filled platforming sections, and manipulate large stone statues under pressure. The reward for conquering the temple is the Burning Heart of the Earth, the last relic needed alongside the three you already collected.
The temple spans three floors: the entry bridge over a lava river, the flame altar chamber on the middle level, and the statue rotunda at the summit. Heat timers in certain zones force you to move quickly, but the main puzzles allow unlimited attempts. Expect forty-five to seventy minutes for a first clear.
Two separate codes gate progress in this map — 211 for the middle chamber and 8111 for the summit door. Both are explained below along with the flame and statue mechanics.
Middle Chamber Code — 211
After crossing the entry bridge you reach a chamber with three lava vents and a code panel. Colorful flames burn above each vent in rotating cycles. Observe the stable flame colors once the rotation stops: the left vent burns blue-white (representing 2), the center vent burns red-orange (representing 1), and the right vent burns green (representing 1). Concatenate left to right for the code: 211.
Enter 211 on the panel to lower a bridge across the lava river below. The bridge grants access to the stairwell leading upward. If the flames have not stopped rotating yet, wait — inputting digits during rotation produces incorrect readings.
A common mistake is counting the number of flames instead of their color values. The puzzle uses color-to-digit mapping shown on a tablet near the entry bridge: blue-white = 2, red-orange = 1, green = 1.
Flame Color Matching
The middle floor contains a flame altar with four braziers that must match the colors of the eternal flames burning in the corners of the room. The target colors are blue, purple, orange, and cyan, and you change brazier colors by interacting with them in sequence.
Each interaction cycles through a color wheel. Start with the north brazier and set it to blue, then east to purple, south to orange, and west to cyan. When all four match, the altar opens and reveals the statue rotation mechanism for the floor above.
If the altar does not activate, one brazier is a shade off — purple and blue look similar in the lava lighting. Stand back and compare each brazier directly to the corner flame it should match.
Summit Door Code — 8111
The stairwell leads to a summit door protected by a four-digit lock. Clues come from the statue rotunda above — four statues face outward, and plates at their bases show engravings of lava flows. Count the flow lines on each plate: the first statue has eight lines, and the remaining three each have one line.
The code reads across the statues from left to right: 8, 1, 1, 1 — giving you 8111. Enter this on the summit keypad to unlock the rotunda floor and access the final puzzle.
Players who try 1118 (reading right to left) or 1111 (ignoring the eight) will fail. Direction matters, and the leftmost statue always holds the eight-line plate.
Statue Alignment and the Burning Heart of the Earth
Inside the rotunda, four warrior statues stand on rotating platforms, each currently facing outward toward the walls. The floor inscription reads: "Face the heart of the mountain." Rotate each statue inward so they all face the center of the room where a lava pool bubbles.
When all four statues align, the lava pool hardens into a crystal pedestal and the Burning Heart of the Earth rises from the center. Collect the relic and carry it to the temple exit altar. Placing it alongside your other three relics completes the collection requirement for the Boss Fight.
The temple portal sends you back to the Wizard's House, where the boss door now glows with energy. Interact with it to begin the final encounter.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the Lava Temple door codes?
Two codes: 211 for the middle chamber bridge and 8111 for the summit rotunda door.
How do I solve the flame color puzzle?
Set the four braziers to blue (north), purple (east), orange (south), and cyan (west) to match the eternal flames in the room corners.
Which way should the statues face?
All four statues must face inward toward the center of the rotunda, following the "heart of the mountain" inscription.
What relic is in the Lava Temple?
The Burning Heart of the Earth. It appears on the crystal pedestal after the statues are aligned.
What do the flame colors translate to for code 211?
Blue-white equals 2, red-orange equals 1, green equals 1. Read left to right across the three vents.
Can I access the Boss Fight without the Burning Heart?
No. All four relics must be placed on the wizard's display board before the boss door unlocks.
