The Restaurant Walkthrough — Code 1573 & Recipe Order
Complete Restaurant guide for Bring Back The Sun. Door code 1573 from cable colors, full recipe order, and how to earn the Gift of the Ancient Grain.
Overview
The Restaurant is widely considered the most puzzle-intensive map in Bring Back The Sun. Set inside a dimly lit dining establishment that has been frozen in time, this area challenges you with electrical wiring puzzles, ingredient gathering, and a strict recipe sequence that must be executed flawlessly. Completing the restaurant earns you the Gift of the Ancient Grain, the third legendary relic.
The map layout includes a dining floor, a kitchen with pantries, a basement electrical room, and a private chef's office upstairs. You will move between these areas repeatedly as each puzzle unlocks access to the next. Budget forty-five to sixty minutes for a first completion.
Two puzzles define this map: the cable color code that opens the basement (1573) and the five-ingredient recipe order that powers the relic altar. Both are explained in detail below.
Cable Color Code — 1573
The basement door is locked behind a panel of four colored cables: blue, orange, green, and pink. Each cable must be assigned a numeric value based on colored indicators found throughout the restaurant. A chart in the chef's office maps colors to numbers: blue equals 1, orange equals 5, green equals 7, and pink equals 3.
Read the cable order from left to right as they enter the panel: blue (1), orange (5), green (7), pink (3). The door code is therefore 1573. Enter it on the basement keypad to access the electrical room and the ingredient storage below.
If you enter the code and nothing happens, make sure you pulled the lever in the chef's office first — it activates the keypad. Without the lever, the panel appears dead.
Gathering Ingredients
The recipe requires five specific items scattered across the restaurant and basement. Ancient Powder sits in a locked pantry on the dining floor — the key hangs behind the counter. Blue Flower is in a vase on the upstairs windowsill; grab it before it wilts (a timer starts when you enter the chef's office). Carton of Milk is in the basement refrigerator after you open the door with code 1573.
Blue Salt is trickier: it is hidden inside a hollow loaf of bread in the kitchen oven. Turn the oven on, wait for the bake animation, then interact with the loaf. Old Piece of Cake is the final item, found in the display case on the dining floor. Break the glass ( interact repeatedly) and collect the slice.
Inventory space is limited to five items, which matches the recipe perfectly. Drop any unnecessary objects before gathering to avoid clutter.
Recipe Order
The kitchen cauldron accepts ingredients one at a time, and order matters. A recipe card pinned above the stove lists the sequence with faint illustrations. Add ingredients in this exact order: Ancient Powder first, then Blue Flower, then Carton of Milk, then Blue Salt, and finally Old Piece of Cake.
Adding items out of order causes the cauldron to flash red and reset, forcing you to re-gather any consumed ingredients. Blue Flower and Old Piece of Cake are single-use, so a mistake means backtracking. Double-check the order before each addition: powder, flower, milk, salt, cake.
When the final ingredient drops in, the cauldron glows golden and the Gift of the Ancient Grain rises from the mixture. Take it to the exit altar near the kitchen door to activate the portal to The Lava Temple.
Tips and Common Mistakes
The most common failure is adding Blue Salt before Carton of Milk. The recipe card illustrations are stacked vertically, and some players read bottom-to-top by mistake. Always go top-to-bottom: powder, flower, milk, salt, cake.
Another pitfall is letting the Blue Flower wilt. If the timer expires, return to the upstairs windowsill — the flower respawns after sixty seconds. Plan your basement trip efficiently so you have the milk ready before picking the flower.
Co-op tip: one player can gather basement items while another collects upstairs ingredients, but only one player needs to add items to the cauldron. The relic appears for the whole server once the recipe succeeds.
